Important Lawn Irrigation Information:
July & August 2020

Recently, the South Farmingdale Water District has been experiencing low water pressure during the early hours of the morning when lawn irrigation is at peak usage.

On July 2, 2020 at 6:00 p.m., the District issued a ROBO call to all District consumers with important information about water conservation. The unseasonably hot, dry weather we have been experiencing, combined with the loss of a critical well within the District has led to an increase in water demand that is unsustainable. Any rainfall that we receive in the near future will not be sufficient to alleviate this situation. Our concern is that the high demand for water during peak irrigation hours could compromise our local fire departments to gain enough water pressure to fight a fire.

To help our community, we are requesting that all residents reduce lawn watering by five (5) minutes per zone during the months of July and August.

We thank you in advance for your cooperation and assisting us to keep our water flowing with the right amount of pressure for the safety of our community.
