South Farmingdale Water District’s responsibility to our consumers is to maintain a seamless delivery of high quality water that meets all federal, state and local standards. To address the impending contamination threat, we moved in a proactive direction to construct water filtration facilities at Plant No. 1 and Plant No. 3 within the District.  While we have not been impacted by the impending Grumman Plume, both facilities are ready to meet the challenge, and are fully operational and currently online.  Recently, the U.S. Navy ran a groundwater model.  The report indicated that the District would be impacted within 3 to 5 years (as a prediction).
