The South Farmingdale Water District will begin its annual hydrant flushing program on Sunday October 19^th.

For a period of two weeks, strategically selected hydrants will be flushed each weeknight, from midnight to 6:00 AM, to remove harmless sedimentation from the water distribution system.

During this period, we suggest you check your water before doing laundry, as your water may become discolored as a result of the flushing. If it is discolored, running your cold water for several minutes should clear it up.

Notice is hereby given that pursuant to Law, the following Resolution was duly adopted by the Board of Commissioners of the SOUTH FARMINGDALE WATER DISTRICT:

RESOLVED, that an election will be held in the South Farmingdale Water District office located at 40 Langdon Road, South Farmingdale, New York, on December 10, 2024 between the hours of 4 p.m. and 9 p.m., for the purpose of electing a Water Commissioner for a term of three (3) years.

All candidates for District office shall file their names with the Secretary of the Board of Commissioners no later than 4:30 p.m. on November 8, 2024; all such nominations must be submitted in petition form subscribed to by twenty-five (25) registered voters of the District.

This project includes the construction of a 504 square foot one-story addition to the existing one­ story South Farmingdale Water District building.

Drawings and specifications may be examined and obtained at the South Farmingdale Water District, between the hours of 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM daily except Saturdays, Sundays, and Holidays on and after Wednesday, October 16, 2024.

A non-refundable deposit of $50.00 is required for each set of contract documents. Checks are to be made payable to the South Farmingdale Water District.

Each proposal must be accompanied by a Certified Check or Bid Bond made payable to the South Farmingdale Water District in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total amount of the bid.

Bid proposals should be made in sealed envelopes clearly marked “40 Langdon Road Building Addition”. Said bids will be opened and read aloud at the above stated time.
